VATICAN CITY - 26 April 2016, Pope Francis received Cardinal Angelo Amato, sdb, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in a private audience. In the course of the audience, the Holy Father authorized the Congregation to promulgate decrees regarding:
- a miracle attributed to the intercession of the Blessed alfonso Maria Fusco, priest of the diocese of Nocera Inferiore-Sarno and founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint John the Baptist; born on 23 March 1839 in Angri, Salerno (Italy) and died there on 06 February 1910; beatified on 07 October 2001;
- a miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable JOHN SULLIVAN, professed priest of the Society of Jesus; born on 08 May 1861 in Dublin (Ireland) and died there on 19 February 1933; heroic virtues confirmed on 07 November 2014;
- the martyrdom of the Servants of God NIKOLLË PRENNUSHI (in religion: VINÇENC), professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor and archbishop of Durrës, and 37 COMPANIONS, priests, consecrated persons, and laypeople killed in odium fidei between 1945 and 1974 in Albania;
- the martyrdom of the Servants of God JOSÉ ANTÓN GÓMEZ and 3 COMPANIONS, professed priest of the Order of Saint Benedict (Solesmes Congregation); killed in odium fidei in 1936 in the religious persecution during the Spanish Civil War;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God CHOE YANG-EOP THOMAS [최양업 토마스], priest of the diocese of Masan; born on 01 March 1821 in Cheongyang-gun, Chungcheongnam-do (South Korea) and died on 15 June 1861 in Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do (South Korea);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God VINCENZO DEL PRETE (in religion: SOSIO), professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor and founder of the Congregation of the Little Handmaids of Christ the King; born on 27 December 1885 in Frattamaggiore, Naples (Italy) and died on 27 January 1952 in Naples (Italy);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God JÓZEF KATARZYNIEC (in religion: WENANTY), professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor Conventuals; born on 07 October 1889 in Obydiv, Lviv (Ukraine) and died on 31 March 1921 in Kalwaria Pacławska, Fredropol, Przemyśl (Poland);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God EMILIA PASQUALINA ADDATIS (in religion: MARIA CONSIGLIA OF THE HOLY SPIRIT), founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Addolorata, Servants of Mary; born on 05 January 1845 in Naples (Italy) and died there on 11 January 1900;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God CATALINA DE LA ENCARNACIÓN CARRASCO TENORIO (in religion: MARÍA DE LA ENCARNACIÓN OF SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI) , founder of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Flock of Mary; born on 24 March 1840 in Puebla de Guzmán, Huelva (Spain) and died on 24 November 1917 in Cádiz (Spain);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God LAURA ROSA BARAGGIA (in religion: MARIA LAURA), founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Family of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; born on 01 May 1851 in Brentana di Sulbiate, Monza e Brianza (Italy) and died there on 18 December 1923;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God ILIA CORSARO, founder of the Congregation of the Little Missionary Sisters of the Eucharist; born on 04 October 1897 in Ercolano (a.k.a. Resina), Naples (Italy) and died on 23 March 1977 in Bagnoli, Naples (Italy); and,
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God MARÍA MONTSERRAT GRASES GARCÍA, young layperson of the personal prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei; born on 10 July 1941 in Barcelona (Spain) and died there on 26 March 1959.
- a miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable JOHN SULLIVAN, professed priest of the Society of Jesus; born on 08 May 1861 in Dublin (Ireland) and died there on 19 February 1933; heroic virtues confirmed on 07 November 2014;
